Once the infamous baby B made his way into our family, little J has required some special one on one dates with him mom and pops. So on Saturday, we made it a full day of fun.

On Jonah's list? McDonalds, Red Robin, and the toy store. Erm, okay.

We hit McD's for breakfast on the patio. He indulged in his 3 pancakes - sorry, hotcakes - and some diluted orange juice. Although I have had breakfast there only twice in the last 4 years, it still tastes the same as it did twenty some years ago. And surely, still just as unhealthy.

After we ran some errands (hey, the kid was thrilled to have us all to himself, no matter what we were doing!), we made it to the toy store. On the boy's list was the Toy Story 3 Tag book. Finally, we found it in stock. Of course, you can't go into the toy store and come out with just one thing! So, he got a new Hot Wheels car, and a few other odds and ends.

It was finally time to grant Jonah his second wish. Red Robin. Always a favorite!

For the first time ever, he didn't finish his meal! Maybe the new mac and cheese they make is more filling than the KD they used to make? Either way, he and Daddy had to top the meal off with a quick game of Frogger. And it was quick, I think Frogger lasted 15 seconds before a car hit him.

Our last stop was Capital Ex. Jonah was asking to go home before we even got there, but we knew we couldn't at least try to see if he'd be okay for a half hour. I'm glad we pushed.

As soon as we walked in, he knew he was destined to spend his afternoon there. With ice cream, balloons, mini donuts, hot dogs, bright lights, and smiles all around, what four year old would think otherwise?

To cool off from a hot day, Daddy and his buddy shared a twist cone. I watched. And melted. And maybe even felt a bit jealous.

After he finished his cone, we headed off to Farm Town. Jonah did this a few years ago and we knew we had to take him again. The premise is to teach kids about how food goes from farm to table. They do a pretty good job, but the people at Food Inc would be saddened I am sure. Every animal is caged or cooped up somehow and all of them are fed nothing but corn. I had to chuckle a bit as we walked through.

Anyway, the kids basically feed each "animal" some corn, and then take a product that said "animal" provides us with. When they are finished, they take their goods to the "farmers market" to sort and sell, then go to the grocery store with a list and the money they received from selling their goods. Once they gather their items, they pay for them and then purchase a treat with their change.

Of course there is also time for a tractor ride

some fishing

and some photo ops. Even lame ones.

So once he finished his chores on the farm, we headed inside to the kid town place. Jonah tried some root beer (he thought it was YUCK!), and another big thing happened. Jonah decided he did indeed, want to try out the "big Jolly Jumper".

He was so cute. He got on the trampoline and bounced away until he was to be harnessed in. As he bounced, he reminded me so much of when he was a little toddler. His little tummy stuck out. His bum stuck out. And he had the biggest smile. You could tell he was not only having fun, but was so stinking proud of himself for doing this. And we were of him. I can't wait to tell his physio therapist about these last two weekends.

It was time to head home after the jumping, but we couldn't leave the fair without some mini donuts.

"Foeteen simamom peas!"

Little man was tuckered out. It was a good day indeed.
