We didn't have any!

Instead we had:
First day grump faces.
First day procrastination.
First day sassiness.
First day dragging of the feet.
First day separation anxiety.

But we also had fun!

Jonah met three of his classmates and really only seemed to "play" with one, Marco. We'll see if they end up being in the same group (class is 14 kids, split into two different classrooms, and then again split into groups of 2-3 kids who stay together for the year).

Jonah played cars, trains, water table, bubbles, coloured, joined circle time twice, and of course, had a snack and potty break.
At which time he peed on a daddy long legs in the urinal. Nice place to hang out spider....

While Jonah got aquainted with his new teachers and classmates, I stuck around, played some, and I even enjoyed a stroll around my old elementary school for a little while. It was a bit weird being back there.

Oh, and before we left, two neat things I had to mention. One was that they have bikes and scooters for kids in the class to ride on. One of the girls in Jonah's class has trouble pedaling, so they put her on the 'green machine'. Jonah wanted to try to and it was pretty neat, if not awkward to watch! This is the closest photo I could get of one like it. But imagine the foot part to be about 8"wide by 36" long, and then bars coming out of the front and back so the kids can hang onto them - like a ballet bar.

The other neat thing...we got our first Scholastic book order catalogue.
Sweet. I miss those things and will surely be plunging into it tonight, putting my ever so memorable circles around the books and items that I want. I mean, that Jonah would like. ;)
