Benny Bean is slowing down his weight gain finally. You know how we all are sure he is not only heavier, has the same big head, and is also chubbier than Jonah was at the same age? Well, here are the stats of both boys at 4mths old:

Jonah - 13lbs 12oz, 24", 43.9cm head circumference
Benett - 13lbs 11oz, 24.5", 41cm head circumference

Both were on the 50th percentile for height and weight (Jonah started to drop after this), but the kicker is that tiny 3cm of head size is the difference between Jonah being in the 97th percentile and Ben being in the 25th!


All is well with Ben for the most part. He is developing normally for his age, which is no surprise as we tend to bread textbook babies.

We do have a consult with the pediatrician in a few weeks to review Ben's cow's milk protein allergy. I had been advised to try dairy again at 4mths and 6mths old. Although it was accidental, I had the smallest amount - two cheddar smokies in two days. End result? Ben wasn't as fussy as usual, but still had tummy aches and gas (less severe though), his poop did turn algae green again, but this time, he had mucous in it. Sorry for the information, but this is what new parents discuss, right?
We also have an appt with a naturopath next week to discuss this same allergy, but mainly so he can set us up on the right path when giving Ben goat's milk...if he can drink it. I'm pretty excited to be honest.
