After a week away in Calgary for work, I returned to a rather joyful little boy. He was so happy to have not only his mommy back, but his whole family together again (makes me dislike work trips a little more each time). And now, I can give all of our dedicated readers - all 2 of you I am sure ;) - an update.

We decided prior to me leaving, that we would go 'look' at mattresses, since there was a sale on and a certain "someone" was getting to the age where it wouldn't be the worst idea to start thinking about moving out of the crib. Granted he would probably be content in there for another 3 years....

Needless to say, Jonah enjoyed all of this bed shopping. True, he didn't get the point, but he liked it none the less.
~side note: we also left the store with the store's only stuffed bowling ball and pin guy. The salesmen were so impressed with our cleaning-obsessed child that they gave it to him after witnessing him not only leave the store dry eyed, but also for cleaning up his toys, and the others that were left out.

So, today we ventured out to get both sets of furniture (thanks again for the help, Grampa!).
I figured after an hour and a half of exceptional behaviour (the poor kid had to be carted around a store for that long and hardly put up a fuss), he deserved an ice cream. Again, virtually no mess and it was his FIRST cone not only to himself, but eating it by himself.

So, his mattress arrives Friday at which point we will let him choose which bed he wants to sleep in. i won't be surprised if he chooses the crib for sleep and bed for play.

And, here are two little photos.
1) Today, Jonah helped me make Puppy Chow. Here he is stirring away.

2) Here is Jonah's newest structure. A bridge/tower. He is a budding engineer. Not just a plain ole engineer, but a bridge and tunnel engineer, like his Uncle Brian. :) I should note, he did this all on his own, no help from anyone.
