Cheese! It's Canada Day! Time for the annual parade. This year we had GREAT weather, in fact, it was going to be a hot week! We headed off camping right after the parade. No photos though - we forgot the camera. Whoops. Needless to say, it was so hot we spent one day in the nearest town's movie theater and going for lunch. The beach just was not enough, though we did spend the morning there. Without humidity, it hit 38C that day.

Because we couldn't find a fishing spot camping, we took the boys when we got home. To this fine mecca of a fishing hole. Sheesh.

When we got home from camping, we had just a couple days to welcome home this little guy.

Meet Chewie Tree. He goes by Chewie around here. Or "NO!", or "Down!".
Ya. That's a pretty typical scene around here, but the kids are more welcoming of his slobber. I mean kisses. Yes, kisses.
I will admit, he can be pretty cute.

Benett kept up to his usual antics.
And we were sure to head to the park. School playgrounds are the best in the summer if you want some quiet!

Jonah was enrolled in a bike camp. We just couldn't get him to take those darned training wheels off. After two days, he asked for them to be taken off. While he was not completely riding by the end of the summer, we made some good progress without too much of a hit to the self esteem. He has learned much more about perseverance and giving your all than he wanted, but it has been a good experience for him.
For Benett? It was an opportunity for coffee dates with mom and playground exploration!

The boys also got a new set of clubs for golfing from Grampa, so he took them out to give them a lesson.
Things went as anticipated. One boy had more attention and patience then the other. It's how things go around here typically.

So sometimes, snuggles with a puppy are in order after a long hard 5 minutes of golfing.

Always have to make time for some fun science experiments! Dogs like dish soap, right?

Summer also calls for K-Days! So glad they changed the name back. We actually didn't get any fair food this year, what with it not being fair to Jonah, but that just meant we didn't go home feeling disgusting and with sore stomachs. Some things are worth it.
But I still feel like some mini donuts....

 At the farm exhibition inside.

It's crazy to look at these photos now and see how small Chewie was. I felt like he was so big as a puppy, much more so than we were anticipating. The boys still love to pick him up, even though he is full grown, but I can assure you, the photos are not quite as cute as these.
