We headed off to the Canada Day parade on Thursday. Based on the entrants from the previous year, were we at all surprised to see the undertaker?
Or how about Pooh Bear...who looks like he could use a few pots of hunny.
The boys had fun. Jonah learned how to make himself know if he wanted candy, and Benny had a first. He skipped his morning nap until he finally zonked out for a half hour, despite my efforts to make him take one on the go. Had to try! Let's just say he and his cousin have something in common with regards to not wanting to miss out on the action! Regardless, this was his mood much of the day! Who can complain about that?
In other surprising news, this little bear really impressed his daddy and I. Last night at the dinner table, Joel excitedly said "Keri! Look in his mouth!" What do you know? Benett cut all four of his one year molars! He is awaiting one tooth in the front as well, but that will be another week before it cuts. He has effectively doubled his tooth count! We are just so impressed that we had no idea he was getting them. You can see one molar in this photo, despite the fuzziness.
Bring on the steak!
And another "surprise". I use the term surprise with heaps of sarcasm this time.
Benett had his developmental screening yesterday and based on the results, we are looking at another round of everything we had with Jonah. He scored as 'severe' in the gross motor and 'moderate' for speech. There won't be much action taken until between 18 and 24mths of age for him, just because so much can happen in that time frame. But if he is still delayed for his age, we'll be joining some playgroups and programs to offer support and assistance for him, and then...he would enter the same program as Jonah. I'm far more relaxed this time around, I think because we have WAY too much experience with all of this.
Oh well. These boys are worth all of it. Seriously. I wouldn't trade them for anything or anyone - even a normally developing child.
But really, does that surprise you? ;)
