Blame the late post on denial.
He can't be six months already, can he?
Our littlest munchkin is growing up faster than we recall the first doing and it's kind of heartbreaking. But what's one to do? I suppose it just means I'll have to cuddle him more!
Benett is slowing down on his growth some, but nothing dramatic. This month he weighed in at 15 lbs 2 oz and 26.5". He is riding along the 25th and 50th percentiles, nothing real exciting.
What's new this last month though? Well, the little turkey has started to eat solids. A good eater? I think not! While we only have Jonah to compare him to (a SUPER clean eater with a good appetite), I'm hoping that Ben improves in this department. He is a mess! He is picky! All I can say is it's time to buy stocks in Dole and Chiquita because as long as his food is mixed with bananas, he'll eat it. Otherwise, into the organics bin it goes.
Benett isn't doing anything overly dramatic in the milestone department. He loves to squawk (he sounds like a gremlin), and he is building up his upper body strength quite nicely. Sitting up should follow in another month I am guessing. Developmentally, he and Jonah are very similar so far. I haven't yet decided if this is a blessing or a curse.
What else to say at this monumental age? Well, I'll miss alot of things as he now starts his growth into a toddler and less of a baby. I'll miss his smell - Aleva Naturals bath wash followed by his cheek chap stick and now his body lotion. I'll miss those chubby cheeks and neck rolls. I'll miss the fits of laughter at the most ridiculous and trivial things. I'll miss the baby nuzzles where he lets his head fall into our neck and lays his pudgy hands ever so gently on our shoulders. I'll miss his baby footie pajamas. I'll miss his tiny coos and sounds.
But, I look forward to all the things to come!
Happy half year birthday, Benett! We love you!
