As much as we all love newborns, let's admit it...they are boring.
Go on, pick your jaw up off the floor. I'm being serious here.
Benett is a cutie alright, but Joel and I were waiting for the little man to turn 3 months old for other reasons. It's such a great age (as we found every 3 months to be) as that is when baby's personality really starts to show and they become able to do something more than, let's say, lay on the floor and flail their appendages around without reason. Fun stuff, no?
So what were we waiting for? Well, Joel was waiting for the Jolly Jumper to make it's appearance. Jonah loved this thing for the fun times it provided. I loved it because it occupied Jonah while I made dinner and it wore him out in time for bed. Now, Mr. B will learn of it's magical powers. ;)
Disclaimer - it was nearly 30 degrees the day we took this picture, it was laundry day, and as far as my pasty white skin...I have no excuse.
The second thing we were waiting for was the bumbo. Sure, the kid moves even less in it than he does laying on the floor, but at least it gives him a new perspective, and therefore, less tears of boredom.
And third thing...drum roll please...was sleeping through the night. That's right. I think it's safe to say that he is there now. Obviously there will be blips along the way, but we are on our third consecutive night of Benett sleeping from 7:30pm straight through to nearly 7:00am! I sneak in before I go to bed for a quick 'dreamfeed' and he doesn't wake till I do. Ah...bliss.
Oh, and since some of you are wondering what the heck a dreamfeed is, I just go into Ben's room, gently pick him up from his crib, nurse him, then lay him back down. No waking him up, no diaper changes (unless absolutley necessary). In and out in 10 minutes.
