Since he was 11mths old, Jonah has attended dayhomes during the week. He has been through four of the, with a 50% success rate. Suffice to say, he started and ended with two of the best daymoms we could have asked for.
Today is Jonah's last day at dayhome. Sure, he'll be able to go a few times a month through the summer, but it will no longer be part of his daily routine. As I type this, I imagine he and his bestest buddy, Liam and racing around the playroom tackling each other. In less than an hour, he'll be dumping ingredients into a bowl to stir for his last batch of "too-many-ingredient" cookies. And then, as part of his send off, his party will begin.
That's right! How's that for a sign of a great dayhome?! Jonah will be the guest of honor at his super-colorful-fiesta themed farewell party. Complete with his own sombrero to take home with him! I wonder if there is a pinata involved, but I think I know the answer.
Sure, we are sad for him. This is where he met his first girlfriend and his first best friend. He grew in so many ways there. And he definitely came out of his shell.
But now, he will be home with me and Benett for the year. I'm fairly confident that Jonah won't mind too much. And for that matter, I won't either.
