And we were off! Just 12 hours after arriving in California, we were off again, to Universal Studios. The boys were so well behaved every time we traveled. We are quite blessed to have good travelers.
Upon arriving, we got their photo in front of the big guitar on the City Walk. Benett was thoroughly confused.
He was however, enthralled with this flower bed. Kid could have spent the whole morning there!
But alas, there was more to see. The fountain under the dome wasn't as interesting, but they still stopped to take a look.
And of course, we had to stop for our eldest to check out the Angry Birds store display.
About 30 minutes later, we finally arrived at the front gates.
There was a great view of the studios below us that Sam and I both had to take photos of.
And then check out the Animal Actors show. By far, the thing that Benett seems to remember the most. He keeps talking about the "birds that didn't listen!".
Speaking of not listening, Daddy didn't listen when his son told him to stop feeding him to Jaws. I love how the guy in khaki shorts is looking at Joel.
We did the studio tour as well, which I remember being my favorite when I was 12. It wasn't as great, but still glad we did it. Here is a bit of Whoville from The Grinch movie. I was glad Jonah was able to identify something.
He did, however, talk about how he thought this movie set was neat. When he described it, I asked him "Oh, the one with the plane crash?". Whoops. Probably not the best thing to mention when we have to board another few planes before coming home! He had a look of complete confusion, with a touch of paranoia, but it didn't seem to phase him much, thank goodness!
This set is from War of the Worlds. It was probably the most impressive to me.
Back in the park, we bumped into to Shrek and Fiona, hanging out in front of Lord Farquaad's castle.
But they aren't cool enough to get a photo with my dear son. Curious George is though!
Maybe because he had this great playground with almost NO children in it all afternoon!
Or a super cool ball room where even the adults had a blast. But that could be because they were blowing off their own steam!
Ben enjoyed this slide quite a bit. Nothing special about it, but the kids just seemed to gleam ear to ear all afternoon sliding down it.
Was today fun, Jonah?
