That's right, and I'm pretty excited. I'm excited to have Jonah home with me more, and I'm excited to move him to his new school. They've been so warm and welcoming, already 2 playdate invites from other moms and the teacher taking time from her busy day to get to know him on a drop in visit. How great is that?

That's not to say his past school wasn't great, but he's ready to move on.

To start summer off, we first had to say goodbye to preschool. A quick stop to take a photo of his locker, then off to the farewell party the next day.

That weekend, he had a birthday party to attend. His favorite take away? A pair of dollar store sunglasses. Of course we found him like this that night:

The weather has been sunglass worthy, but we've also had our share of rain. It was time to get the kids their own umbrellas. Well, at least Jonah. But of course, little brother had to have one too. And this is how he rode in the van for the next few days. He was in love.

While I had all these great plans to take the kids places after school finished, they were pretty much all canceled due to me being sick and having difficulty breathing from my asthma. I mustered up the strength to take them out twice last week though, and I am so glad I did.
We hit up the zoo one day, and got to see Lucy the elephant paint a canvas. The following day, we checked out the new John Janzen Nature Center. A BIG hit, and one we will definitely return too, especially the indoor play center. And in the summer, of course, they will always want to search the pond for snails and the like.

I love having a facility pass! Before we went home, the boys saw the steam train and the streetcar driving by at Fort Edmonton. Go for a ride? Sure! Since I didn't have to pay admission, I was more than happy to oblige.

So far, the summer is off to a good start (save for the sick part).
