Well, folks, the time for it had to be coming. Albeit a little later than initially expected, we are finally there. I started potty familairization with J at 9mths, but never pushed it. He had days of curiousity here and there and some successful pees in the potty in the last 18mths, but nothing consistent.
However, not by his own decision - nor force, I might add, but Jonah is finally using the potty.

Last week, Grandma Harstad came to visit for 10 days from overseas. She graciously offered to assist in the great potty training adventure by staying all day Friday and Monday. That way we had 4 full days. Jonah awoke on Friday and all his diapers were gone.

I'll spare you non-parents and those with grown children the details, but by Sunday, we were accident-free.

Then on Monday Jonah got sick. Back to diapers for a few days.

Good news! Jonah's energy returned by Wednesday and so the diapers were gone again. Looks like we are back on track. Even when he wakes in the morning and after naps, we aren't sure if he even peed.

Now, I have two concerns. One - I am dreading an outing with him for fear of the obvious! And two...can someone tell this child that underpants need to be worn under pants?!
I'm not fighting him on it for now, but good grief...who would find that to be comfortable?
