Halloween was always one of my favorite days of the year, and I think that our dear boy has found out why.
We started with making decorations and cookies before Halloween was upon us, but he never really got it until Halloween night.

That morning, he was adamant that he would NOT wear his costume to dayhome. Once we were there, he actually put it on...until we got inside. That was enough apparently. So, panic set in as I wasn't sure he would wear it that day, and worst of all, for trick or treating. I spoke with Joel and he helped me find Jonah's costume from last year, just in case. He was bound to be either the owl that we planned on, or a kangaroo again.
When I picked Jonah up, he was wearing his costume! Yay! So we headed to Kim's for a first trick or treat stop. Jonah kept asking if he was getting a cookie, and I was honest in telling him that maybe, but I didn't know what Kim was handing out. She gave him a bag of chips, which was very exciting to him. Once we left, he noticed the people across the street getting ready for halloween, and insisted that we go trick or treating right then and there. I explained to him the nights events, but of course, he just threw a bit of a fit, refusing to get in the car. Eventually I won. I always do. ;)
When we got home, he asked for one of his 'cookies'. I explained it was chips, but yes, just one. He took one, took a taste, and was horrified to find out I was right. It was pretty funny.
After dinner, Jonah decided to be his kangaroo instead, and a cute one he was. Everyone loved him. I took him out on our street, Joel took him down the next, and then after coming home, Jonah took a 10 minute break and decided he wasn't done for the night. So back out he went.
The best thing was, he REALLY got trick or treating this year. Yes, he wanted to go back out this morning.

Some cute things:
-Jonah welcomed himself into nearly every home - sauntering in about 5 feet and staring at them. We are working on that.
-He would point to his mouth and ask "Num num?" to each person.
-He would let everyone that had a dog know, by panting like one.
-Although he has no idea what candy really is, he was quite particular in choosing from people and even helping himself. Again, we'll work on the manners more next year.
He did eventually get his cookies. And lots of smarties. The kid will be on a sugar high for the next 4 weeks.

Anyone want some candy?
