Thursday marked Jonah's first day of kindergarten.

Traditionally, this would be a time for me to get all sappy, to hold back the tears as I drop him off, and to feel sorry for myself that my child is truly growing up.

But, to be honest, let's face facts. This is his THIRD first day of school. Our son was in a 5 day a week class from the age of three. Poor kid was riding a bus from when he was three.

To have him be at school only HALF as many days and to NOT be on the bus?! Sadness does not define how I was feeling on Thursday.

I am elated that he is in school, and elated to get 'back' some of the time we lost together the last two years.

And yes, he is pretty excited too. When I asked how his first day was, he said it was good and he wanted to go back.

Even though he is in a new school, with a new teacher, he has a few friendly faces. Three classmates he has met and played with before, and his PT will be returning to him this year. For which I am thrilled.

 Myself, Jonah, and his teacher.

It's gonna be a good year, we just know it!  Especially when you go home with a treat and note like this. :)
