Yesterday after school, I was looking in Jonah's communication binder from school. In it, the kids put stickers on the face that shows their emotions for the day. He chose to explain his choice for the day, which was 'okay'.

Jonah: "Mommy, today I chose 'okay' because yesterday, at the doctor, the doctor say I OKAY."
That's right, he went to the doctor and she told him he was okay, so he felt that he should document this in his school binder. So cute.

I think that Joel and I can honestly say that Jonah has his first girlfriend, Hannah. He and a little girl from school are inseperable when together. They talk about each other out of school all the time, hold hands when together, hug and kiss at school, and are begging the teacher each day to either allow them to be in the same group as one another, or allow them to go to the park so they can play together. It's so adorable.
And today, she joined us for a Halloween party for the dayhome. She and the other girl were fighting over Jonah! Which reminds me of a conversation between Jonah and the little girl (R) I watch last week.

R: Jonah, who's Hannah?
J: Oh, she's my girlfriend.
R: Why?! (she was clearly offended that she isn't his girlfriend)
J: Just because. I just love her so much.
R: Oh. Well. I have a boyfriend anyway. So there.

As an update to Jonah's school, I met with his teachers yesterday. He has made great progress socially this year, and is now working on the bike with training wheels. He is doing very well, but goes so fast, he loses track of how to balance and needs to refocus. He has also started galloping, which is a big step for him. With his speech, he will work on sentence structures and just sharpening up his two way communication in general. Overall, I am very excited for him since I felt that this year would be that final piece of the puzzle to set him up for success for kindergarten.
Which, will be all about social skills as we all know. In one of the tests they did with Jonah, he scores at 5yrs 1mth for academics - 6 months older that he is. Proud mama.
